An Artist that I Admire

An Artist that I Admire

I think that admire is not the word that describe what I feel for this artist, but I really like the work of  Antonio Becerro, he is an artist who experiment with taxidermy, not all of his work it's related to do that, but a big part it is.

He is the founder of an art center called “La Perrera”, in the 80' the government used that place to sacrifice dogs from the street. Years later, Becerro establish the art center honoured all the dogs who died in there.

In 2013, one of his last work was present at the National Museum of Fine Art, the name of the exposition was “Encontraron Cielo”. I really loved go there and see all of the scultures of dogs, because the idea of the exposition makes an allusion to all the dogs who was killed or died on the street. He charactherize the chilean dog, the “quiltro” and I am crazy about dogs and animals in general, so, make art with those deads is the intersting thing of the work of Antonio Becerro.

For me, the contemorany art need to take more attention of this situation, because you can express your art in many ways, and make visible this problem is one of them.
